Flavored cigars - the pinnacle of smoking pleasure

Flavored cigars are the pinnacle of smoking pleasure. If you've been a cigarette smoker and are trying to quit, make the transition to cigars starting today. Flavored cigars are rich with bouquet, last longer than cigarettes, and aren't nearly as harmful to your health to cigarettes. Cigars can quickly help you "step down" if you are a heavy smoker, and you may eventually find yourself in a place where you only smoke cigars on occassion - and not because you need nicotine, either.

Even if you're not a cigarette smoker, cigars can be very rewarding. Many cigar aficionados don't even draw cigar smoke into their lungs - they simply draw the pleasing smoke into their mouths for a few seconds, and slowly exhale. This allows you to enjoy the fantastic flavor of a slow-burning, richly flavored cigar, without seriously risking your health.

Cigars come in a wide variety of flavors, depending upon the types of tobacco leaves used in the cigar's construction. The filler is the innermost part of a cigar, and generally consists of 2 to 5 varying types of tobacco leaves. The cut size and density of these filler leaves determines how quickly the cigar will burn - not enough leaves and the cigar will burn "hot," delivering a harsh flavor. Too dense and you run the risk of developing a plug, or blockage, which means reduced smoke volume and therefore, less flavor.

The binder leaf holds the filler in place. This is generally comprised of one or more larger leaves, tightly wound to hold the filler in place.

The wrapper leaf is the outermost part of a cigar, and is generally very high in quality, making it one of the most critical components of flavor.

Generally, the darker brown the cigar's coloring is, the sweeter it will taste. Other factors such as storage and age also affect the flavor of a cigar. It's important to store quality cigars in a humidor for proper aging and humidification.

Until you've tried several types of cigars, it's hard to know which you personally prefer. If you're just starting out, we suggest that you select a variety pack of long, short, sweet, mild, thick, and thin cigars, so you can decide which is most pleasing to your palate.
